SeededBuzz, a community of bloggers.

"SeededBuzz is a community of bloggers where members with similar interests and goals are connected with each other, content ideas shared and relationships formed. The benefit of these friendships and cooperation is increased backlinks, subscribers, followers and revenue."

Developing the SeededBuzz project was such an exciting project for us because of its unique concept. This a membership driven website that provides a new way of getting other bloggers to write about, link and subscribe to your blogs. From businesses to bloggers who write about topics from Technology to Lifestyle to Politics to Entertainment; SeededBuzz will help deliver your posts to other bloggers who can help spread the word and in-return help increase your SEO.

The Theme:
The client came to us with a complete set of Photoshop mockups, which we then converted to Drupal 6 compatible themes. A few custom elements were provided, but mostly all user-interfaces were supplied by the client.

The Development:
This project used a lot of the core modules and very commonly used contributed modules including: Views, CCK, Roles Content Profile, Google Analytics, Imagecache, Page Title, Path Auto, Popups, Rules, Token, Taxonomy Super Select, Taxonomy Menu, Ubercart and Userpoints.

Since this is a membership based website we integrated the popular Ubercart e-commerce module with UC Recurring Fees to handle automatic monthly recurring subscriptions. Custom development was contributed to the UC Recurring Fees project to more seamlessly handle upgrades and downgrades with Paypal integration.

Userpoints project was integrated in order to control how many seeds users can publish each month. Seeds are renewed at the time of the subscription renewal and are automatically deducted when a new seed is published.

Custom Modules include building a custom module to handle su.pr integration on publishing seed content. Every time a seed is published, based on the taxonomy term we then publish the seed to su.pr which is then also published to twitter providing bloggers with even more exposure.
